Eric is a 17 year old Jacobs High School student from Algonquin, IL. Eric is a
bright and kind kid with an astonishingly positive attitude. He is a captain of
Jacobs Hockey Team, an avid motorcycle enthusiast, musician and full of life.
On October 29, 2006 Eric was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer called
Malignant Psammomatous Melanotic Schwannoma. This is a cancer of the
nerve sheath. Little is known about this particular cancer and there is no set
course of treatment. Consequently, Eric's family has already made several trips
to the Mayo Clinic as well as a trip to Texas in attempt to ascertain Eric's
prognosis and to develop treatment options. Eric has already undergone two
separate surgeries and as you might expect, will incur enormous medical bills
fighting this disease. He continues to fight this cancer with amazing courage and
